Vitamin D plays an important role in maintaining healthy bones and teeth by regulating the levels of calcium and phosphorus in the bloodstream. Both regular vitamin D3 and vegan vitamin D, when taken in appropriate doses, can help prevent a lack of vitamin D and the development of osteomalacia.

D3 from Lichen – A sustainable plant-based source of Vitamin D3 derived from lichen that is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians. Lichens are a unique group of plant like organisms consisting of a symbiotic relationship between a fungus and algae. Lichens are found all around us, growing on sides of trees, on rocks, etc. In order for lichens to protect themselves from harmful sun damage, they naturally produce Vitamin D as a protective mechanism. Lichen-based Vitamin D3 is known for being free from toxins and other contaminants. It is the same natural form of D3 that our body produces to protect our cells when exposed to sunlight, making this a highly absorbable source of vitamin D3.

D2 from Organic Mushroom (Dried Agaricus bisporus) – Mushrooms are the only fruit or vegetable that naturally contain vitamin D. They have the potential to be the only non-animal, unfortified primary source of vitamin D for vegans and vegetarians that can provide a substantial amount of bioavailable vitamin D2. Our Vitamin D2 is sourced from organic and non-GMO high vitamin D mushroom powders that is considered a whole food with no carriers or additives.
