Certified Organic Local Lacinato Kale is harvested fresh from local farms in the Victoria, BC region and delivered at peak freshness. Also known as Tuscan kale, dinosaur kale, or cavolo nero, Lacinato is a distinctly different variety from curly green kale — with long, dark blue-green leaves, a bumpy, pebbled texture, and a richer, more complex flavour that is slightly sweeter and less bitter than curly kale. Certified organic and non-GMO. Sold individually. In-store or local delivery only.
Lacinato kale is a favourite among chefs for its versatility and superior texture. Its leaves are more tender and less fibrous than curly kale, making it excellent for raw preparations — thinly sliced into ribbons for salads, or massaged with olive oil and lemon. It also holds up beautifully to heat, making it ideal for sautés, braises, soups, and pasta dishes like ribollita or pasta e fagioli. A natural source of vitamins K, A, and C, calcium, iron, and dietary fibre.
