Natural Factors is one of the largest manufactures of natural health products in North America. Every aspect of our business - from our soil and seeds to our farming practices and production - is built on the foundation of safety, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.
Roland Gahler, our founder, passionately believes in taking care of the land, so much so that it’s the cornerstone of our mission statement. In fact, Roland put his belief into action 25 years ago when he established Factors Farms in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia.
Here on almost 600 acres of certified organic farmland we grow a wide variety of organic nutrient-rich plants. Grown from true “species” non-hybrid, non-GMO seeds, our crops are fertilized only with chemical- and pesticide-free compost and nitrogen-rich sea plants, and only those plants with the highest level of active ingredients are harvested at peak freshness. Processing locally at our own facilities within hours of harvesting lets us preserve the maximum goodness of the plants, while protecting the environment. And at a time when the average meal covers 1,200 km to reach the dinner plate, creating local initiatives has never been more important. Growing our ingredients locally also reduces our carbon emissions and supports jobs in our communities.
But we’re not done yet. We’re working to reduce our footprint in all areas of our operations. From ourLEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified production facility to our employee engagement initiatives and recycling program, we’re committed to working toward zero waste. Because here at Natural Factors, quality and sustainability go hand-in-hand.
